History and Culture of Villasimius
Villasimius boasts a rich and intriguing history, evidenced by ancient Nuragic, Phoenician-Carthaginian, and Roman remains.
Originally named Carbonara until the 19th century, it was repopulated and established as a commune in 1838 after periods under various rules and pirate raids.
